Relationship, Not a Ritual

Many people think prayer is about finding the right words.
Jesus taught something very different.

Before He taught His disciples what to pray,
He reminded them who they were talking to: Our Father.

Matthew 6:9 records Jesus’ words: “This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.'” (NIV)

Because of Jesus, we have direct access to our Heavenly Father.
Prayer is simply bringing your heart into His presence.

You don’t have to impress Him.
You don’t have to earn His attention.
You already have it.
He delights in hearing your voice.

Start there.
Stay there.
Live from there.

Prayer was never meant to be a religious performance.
It’s an invitation into a conversation with the God who loves you.

Father, thank You that we don’t have to perform for You. Thank You that we can come to You just as we are. Teach us to enjoy talking with You as Your beloved children. In Jesus wonderful Name, Amen.
