For all eternity, Jesus was with the Father.
Yet He stepped into our world so that we could know God personally.
John couldn’t keep this news to himself.
He had seen Jesus, experienced His power,
and witnessed His resurrection.
He writes in 1 John 1:2, “The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.” (NIV)
John calls Jesus “the life.”
Not just a teacher of life.
Not simply a guide to life.
Jesus is life itself.
Now he was sharing that truth with others.
The good news of the Gospel is that eternal life isn’t something we earn someday.
It begins the moment we place our faith in Christ.
Life with God starts now and continues forever.
