Our culture talks a lot about freedom. We often define freedom as doing whatever we want, whenever we want but true freedom isn’t having no master—it’s having the right one.
But the Bible paints a deeper picture. In Romans 6:16, the Apostle Paul reminds us that everyone serves something when he writes, “You are slaves to the one you obey…” (NIV)
Before Christ, sin was our task master, selfishness directed our decisions and fear led the way.
It shaped our desires, our decisions, and our direction.
But through Jesus, something changes. We are invited to live under a new leadership—the leadership of righteousness in a reconciled relationship with God.
And here’s the beautiful paradox: The more we walk with Jesus, the more free we actually become.
True freedom isn’t having no master. True freedom is belonging to the One who leads us into the richness of true life from the true source of it.
My prayer for you is that your life be guided by the One who loves you most. That His leadership brings life, peace, and freedom in every decision you make and that you will follow Him with confidence and trust every step of the way.
