Grace leaves no room for pride.
Paul warned Gentile believers not to look down on the Jewish people. The Gentiles had been grafted into God’s covenant family through faith, but that was not a reason to feel superior. It was a reason to be deeply grateful.
We did not rescue ourselves.
We did not earn our place in God’s family.
We stand in relationship because God, in His mercy, welcomed us through Jesus.
Remembering this changes the way we see other people.
Instead of judging those who are struggling, wandering, or believing differently, we recognize that every one of us is completely dependent on grace.
Humility does not mean thinking less of yourself.
It means remembering that everything you have received from God is a gift.
So stand confidently in His love but stand humbly.
You are not standing because you have been good enough.
You are standing by faith in the One who is always good.
Lord Jesus, keep my heart humble and grateful. Help me remember that I stand because of Your grace, and teach me to extend that same grace to others. In Your Powerful Name Amen.
