Based On Grace

Grace is God giving us what we could never earn and inviting us to receive it by faith. Yet even after we begin our relationship with Jesus through grace, we can slip back into trying to earn God’s approval or earn His love.

Paul reminds us that God’s people are chosen by grace not because they performed perfectly, followed every rule, or proved themselves worthy. He writes in Romans 11: 5-6, “So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works.” (NIV)

We measure our worth by how well we are doing, how much we are serving, or whether we have checked every spiritual box. But you do not have to work for what Jesus has already won for you.

Obedience matters, but it is our response to God’s love not the price we pay to receive it.

Remember, In Christ you are not held by God according to your performance.
You are held by grace.

Father, thank You that my relationship with You is founded on grace. Help me stop striving for Your approval and begin living confidently from Your love. In Jesus Powerful Name, Amen.
