Paul has spent this letter reminding us who Jesus is,
who we are in Him, and how that changes the way we live.
And he writes it in chains.
Colossians 4:18, ends with, “Remember my chains.” (NIV)
Paul’s circumstances weren’t easy.
But his chains didn’t get to determine his faith.
He was confined, but the Gospel wasn’t.
He was suffering, but he still had purpose.
He didn’t wait for everything to get better before allowing God to use his life.
Maybe you are in a season you wouldn’t have chosen.
You don’t have to pretend it’s easy.
But don’t assume that because this season is hard, God can’t use it.
Your limitations don’t limit God.
What restricts you doesn’t restrict what God can do through you.
Father, help me trust You in the places I would not have chosen. Remind me that my circumstances don’t determine my purpose and that You can work through my life right where I am. In Your Powerful Name. Amen.
