Paul doesn’t tell us to pretend life isn’t difficult.
He tells us where to take our worries.
Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (NIV)
Prayer isn’t the absence of problems.
It’s bringing your problems into the presence of God.
Notice the promise isn’t that every circumstance immediately changes. The promise is that God’s peace guards our hearts and minds right in the middle of whatever we’re facing.
Peace isn’t found in having all the answers.
Peace is found in knowing the One who does.
Bring Him whatever is weighing on your heart today.
His peace is greater than your worry.
Lord Jesus, whenever anxiety begins to rise, remind me to bring it to You first. Fill my heart with Your peace today. In Your Name, Amen.
