So many people spend their lives trying to prove they matter.
We work harder.
Perform better.
Compare ourselves to others.
Wonder if we’re enough.
But children don’t have to earn a place in the family, they already belong.
Through Jesus, God didn’t simply forgive your sins.
He adopted you as His own.
Romans 8:15 says, “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.” (NIV)
That means your identity isn’t based on your accomplishments,
your failures, or other people’s opinions.
It’s based on the unchanging love of your Heavenly Father.
As one of God’s beloved children,
you have nothing to prove because you already belong.
The next time insecurity creeps in, remember who you are.
You are loved.
You are chosen.
You are free.
Father, thank You for adopting me into Your family. Help me live from my identity as Your child instead of striving to earn what You’ve already freely given. In Jesus’ name, amen.
