Everyone longs for freedom.
Some people think freedom means doing whatever they want.
But Jesus offers something far greater than that.
Before we knew Christ, we were slaves to sin, guilt, fear, and shame.
We could never free ourselves no matter how hard we tried.
That’s why Jesus came—not just to forgive our sins,
but to break the chains that held us captive.
John 8:36 says, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (NIV)
When Jesus says, “You will be free indeed,” He means real freedom.
Freedom from living under the weight of your past.
Freedom from trying to earn God’s approval.
Freedom from the power of sin to define your life.
The greatest freedom isn’t the ability to do whatever we want.
It’s finally becoming who God created us to be.
Today, don’t live like someone still trapped in a prison whose door has already been opened.
Step into the freedom Jesus has already won for you.
Jesus, thank You for setting me free.
Help me walk each day in the freedom You purchased for me on the cross.
Remind me that I belong to You and no longer have to live in fear or shame. Amen.
