Even the strongest believers experience moments
of uncertainty, worry, and anxiety.
The goal of faith is not to eliminate fear completely.
The goal is to know where to take it.
David writes in Psalms 56:3, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” (NIV)
Notice what David does not say.
He doesn’t say, “If I am afraid.”
He says, “When I am afraid.”
Friend, fear is part of being human.
Fear isn’t something to eliminate, it’s something to investigate.
Why is it there?
What is it trying to communicate?
What do you need to do with it?
David was in a bad place: he was being hunted,
fearing for his life and was overwhelmed.
Instead of panic, he chose trust.
Trust is not pretending everything is okay.
Trust is bringing our fears to God and placing them in His hands.
Trust is choosing to believe that God is bigger than the situation we face.
Fear says, “What if?”
Trust says, “Even if.”
When fear knocks at your door today, let trust answer.
And know God is bigger than the problem you are facing.
