Sometimes we worry about saying the right thing.
We fear being misunderstood.
We replay conversations we wish had gone differently
or hesitate to speak because we don’t know how our words will be received.
But God already knows.
God knows the words you speak before you even say them.
Psalms 139:4 says, “Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.” (NIV)
He knows the conversations you’re rehearsing in your mind.
The prayers you’re struggling to put into words.
The emotions sitting heavy in your chest before they ever leave your lips.
Nothing catches Him off guard.
He knows the words you regret.
He knows the words you wish someone had spoken over you.
And He even understands the prayers that come out as tears instead of sentences.
And He stays near even when words fail you.
Psalms 139 reminds us that God’s knowledge of us is complete,
not cold or critical, but loving and personal.
So remember:
Before you speak, before you pray,
before you even know how to express what you’re feeling,
God knows and is with you.
