There is something both comforting and unsettling about being fully known.
Most of us spend a lot of time trying to manage how others see us.
We hide our fears.
We soften our struggles.
We present the polished version of ourselves
and hope no one notices the cracks underneath.
But God already sees it all.
David begins Psalms 139 with this simple but powerful truth, “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.” (NIV)
God knows the thoughts you haven’t spoken aloud.
He knows the burdens you carry quietly.
He knows the places where you feel strong
and the places where you feel fragile.
And still, He loves you completely.
You never have to perform for God.
You never have to pretend with Him.
He is not intimidated by your questions,
disappointed by your weakness,
or surprised by your humanity.
He searches you not to condemn you,
but to care for you.
To be fully known by God and fully loved by Him
is one of the safest places your heart can rest.
Today, you can stop striving to appear perfect.
He knows you fully and fully draws near.
