Condemnation is a heavy word and most of us know exactly what it feels like.
It’s the judgement of the guilty before God and the incessant whisper that says,
“You should have done better.”
“You’re not measuring up.”
“You’ll never change.”
But Romans 8:1 says, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (NIV)
Not less condemnation.
Not occasional condemnation.
No condemnation.
Why?
Because your standing with God is not based on your performance—it’s based on Jesus.
This doesn’t mean we ignore growth or conviction.
It means we are no longer defined by guilt or shame.
The verdict has already been given—and in Christ, it is freedom.
So when that voice tries to pull you back into shame, you can answer it with truth:
I am not condemned. I am covered. I am loved.
