Grace is one of the most beautiful and misunderstood words in the Christian life. Some people think grace means God simply overlooks sin. But Romans 6 tells a different story. Romans 6:14 says, “For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.” (NIV)
Grace doesn’t excuse sin—it breaks its power in your life.
Grace is not permission, it’s God’s power at work in you.
Through Jesus, the authority sin once had over your life has been broken.
That doesn’t mean temptation disappears, but it does mean sin is no longer your master.
So by what authority do you live your life from now? God’s. Now, you live from God’s love instead of for it. You live from the power of His grace and gift of His mercy. God’s grace lifts us out of the old life and empowers us to live a new one.
He doesn’t just forgive you, He transforms you.
Everyday you are being transformed by His love for you and for others:
– Your outlook changes.
– You see your situation through new eyes.
– You see yourself through new eyes.
Grace is not God lowering the standard, it’s God’s love transforming you daily. Grace doesn’t lower the bar—it empowers you to live loved in every area of your life.
