Peace Isn’t A Feeling

Most of us think peace is a feeling: a calm morning, a quiet house, a resolved conflict or even a good doctor’s report. And when those things disappear, we assume peace has disappeared too.

But Romans 5 tells us something stunning: Peace with God is not a feeling you chase, it’s a position you stand in. Paul says in Romans 5:1, “Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God.” (NIV)

Not we might have. Not we will have. We have.

Justified means that in Christ you are declared righteous before God.
Not because you finally got it together.
Not because you had a good week spiritually.
Not because you prayed long enough this morning. Because of Jesus.

Peace with God was established at the cross.
It is not fragile.
It is not mood-based.
It does not rise and fall with your emotions.

You may not feel peaceful today but in Christ, you are at peace with God.

That means:
You are not on probation.
You are not one mistake away from rejection or trying to get back into His good graces. You are already standing in them.

Peace with God is not a feeling based on circumstances, it is a relationship bought by Jesus on the cross.

Peace is not a feeling, it is your position in the family of God – you are His child. Run to Him with whatever is disrupting your emotions. Allow the flood of His love to encompass you.

You are His.
He can handle it.
