Divine Direction

There’s nothing quite like standstill traffic on a Los Angeles freeway. Heat rising off the pavement. Smog hanging in the air. Cars packed so tightly you feel like you’re not moving at all.

The beaches are stunning — but the journey there can feel endless.

If you didn’t know you were headed toward the ocean, you’d think you were trapped in the worst traffic of your life.

But then it happens.
You round a bend in the road and suddenly the view opens up — sand, sunlight, waves stretching out to the horizon. And in an instant, the frustration of the drive fades in the presence of the destination.

Life can feel like that.

There are seasons when you’re inching forward, unsure if you’re even going the right way. You pray. You wait. You try to listen for God’s direction, but the road ahead still feels congested and unclear. It’s easy in those moments to assume you’re stuck or that you’ve somehow missed the turn you were supposed to take.

But Psalms 25 reminds us of something steady and reassuring: God instructs those who look to Him. He is not absent from your journey. He is not confused about your direction. And He is not late in guiding you.

Psalms 25:12 says, “Who, then, are those who fear the Lord? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.” (NIV)

Even when progress feels slow, God is still leading.

My friend, if today feels like traffic instead of coastline, don’t lose heart. Keep trusting. Keep moving forward one faithful step at a time.

The stretch of road you’re on is not the end of the story. God sees the view you cannot yet see, and His destination for you is good.

And when you arrive — when the road opens and the beauty breaks into view — you’ll understand that the journey was carrying you somewhere worth going.

Stay the course.
He’s guiding you.
