So many of us try to figure out God’s will by looking at our lives through the lens of the world.
But here’s the truth: you can’t discover God’s will from the world’s perspective.
Sometimes, the most spiritual thing you can do is unplug.
God’s will—His good, pleasing, and perfect will for your life—is not complicated, but it is different. Different from the noise. Different from the pressure. Different from the pace and pull of the world around you.
That’s why Scripture gently invites us to a different way of living.
Romans 12:2 says,
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (NIV)
Notice the order: renewal comes before clarity.
Before we can clearly recognize God’s will, our minds and hearts need space to be renewed in His presence.
Sometimes that renewal looks like:
Sitting quietly with your Bible open
Turning on worship music and letting your soul breathe
Taking a long walk and talking with God
Standing in awe of His creation
Or simply being with people who point your heart back to Him
So let me ask you:
What helps you connect with God most?
What refreshes your heart?
What helps quiet the noise and recenters your soul?
Whatever it is—do that.
Do whatever you need to do to draw back from the world and draw close to God today.
Unplug from the world.
Plug into the presence of God today.
