As you pray and prepare for the New Year,
don’t start with a list of goals,
start with a question: “God, What should I ask for?”
Jesus said in Matthew 7:7, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (NIV)
What are you asking for right now?
Here are a few soul-starting suggestions:
“Show me how to love them.”
“Help me to enjoy the blessings.”
“Give me a vision of what You want this day to be and the strength to fulfill it.”
“Open my eyes to those who are hurting and give me the words to lift them up.”
You get what you ask for.
But Jesus didn’t stop there, He said: “Seek, and you will find.”
What are you seeking?
Here’s a gentle list to guide your heart:
Seek the joy of heaven.
Seek God’s vision for your life.
Seek clarity for the future.
Seek peace in the chaos of the unknown.
Seek opportunities to bless others daily.
Seek wisdom and discernment in your closest relationships.
Seek God’s perspective.
Seek His presence above all.
You find what you seek.
You get what you ask for.
So ask with courage.
Seek with intention.
Knock on every door God brings you to with expectation.
Don’t let fear lead the way.
Let faith in Christ take over.
Ask, seek, and knock on purpose and you will walk into the purpose God already has waiting for you.
