Lean on Him

It is natural to lean on what you know and on your own understanding.

Your understanding is made of what you know, what you have learned, what you have been taught. It is the things you have tucked into your back pocket as experience.

In the other pocket, you have stuffed the disappointments, the failures, and the fears of how other people’s choices will impact your life.

Today, I want to challenge you to let go of what you understand and ask God to show you what He understands.

Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.” (MSG)

Ask Him to show you what He sees.

Jesus knows what is really going on here and nothing is hidden from Him.

Instead of spending your energy worrying about what you can’t control or stressing about what you can’t do, look to God to guide you into what you can do.

Ask Jesus for His perspective and wisdom.

Ask Him to show you His understanding of the situation.

Lean hard into His love and His faithfulness today, especially if your love and faithfulness is tired.

Ask Him to help you handle the situation before you with His grace-filled power and He will.
