Do you feel like worry is driving your day?
Do you feel confused and conflicted with all that is pressing on you?
Worry is a terrible taskmaster.
Worry is constantly collecting bushels of “fear of the unknown,” terrible “what if’s,” lots of “I don’t see how this can change” and layering them all in our hearts and minds.
My encouragement to you today comes from Philippians 4:6, “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” (MSG)
The Apostle Paul ends his letter to the new believers in Philippi with a strong charge to not let worry rule their lives. He implores them to “saturate” their days in prayer and gratitude.
When you spend time with God in prayer, you create space for God to move, for God to speak, for God to calm your mind.
When you sit in silence and solitude in the presence of your Great Father, you are basking in the light of His glory and love for you.
It is vital for you to steal time away from worry and spend that time with God. Especially when you are feeling pulled in different directions.
Make time, steal time, do whatever you need to do, to center your soul in Christ and make room for gratitude to flourish today.
