When Jesus began His public ministry, Matthew 14: 17 records that Jesus began with, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” (NIV)
Because Jesus paid for your sin on the cross, you have full access to God’s abundant forgiveness and unrelenting love.
Repentance means to be honest with where you have messed up and ask God for forgiveness.
It also means fully receiving God’s forgiveness.
Repentance means to mourn the pain your sin has caused you as well as others.
It also means not wallowing in guilt but fully receiving God’s grace.
Repentance means turning away from old ways and asking God to help you change.
I also means not overthinking it.
Repentance means to run into God’s open arms and receive His love.
It also means that you no longer need to strive for God’s love and learn to live from it.
You are made to rest in God’s grace.
You are made to rest in God’s peace.
Jesus preached it, offered it, paid for it on the cross and defeated the power of all sin on the cross.
Your sin doesn’t define you, Jesus does.
My prayer is that you trust God in every area of your life and discover the incredible healing freedom of running to God in repentance every time you need to.
