Sometimes where you are has to get so uncomfortable, so unbearable that change becomes preferable and therefore it becomes possible.
In Matthew 14, Peter was tired of where he was. He was in a storm on the Sea of Galilee with the other disciples. He had been battling the winds and waves all night. His comfort zone, the boat, had been violently tossed about and though he exerted all his effort, he just wasn’t getting very far.
He was exhausted.
Then Peter saw a man walking on the water in the storm and he was terrified. The moment is recorded in Matthew 14:27, “But Jesus spoke to them at once. ‘Don’t be afraid,’ he said. ‘Take courage. I am here!’ Peter recognized the voice and responded with, ‘Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you.’ Jesus told him to come. So Peter stepped over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.” (NLT)
Peter decided that he would rather be with Jesus, doing the impossible, than staying where he was.
Has where you are become unbearable?
Is your comfort zone becoming uncomfortable?
Maybe it’s time for radical change and radical faith.
