Be Still

When is it hard to be still?
– when you worry
– when you are anxious
– when you don’t know what to do
– when you are overwhelmed

Why be still?
– because worry gets you nowhere
– because anxious thoughts translate into stress
– because you are not alone, you have God
– because God is never overwhelmed and His grace is inexhaustible

Psalm 46:10 says to, “Be still, and know that I am God.” (KJV)

Although the word trust is not actually in the text, it is the prerequisite needed to fulfill the command.

Fear is an emotion, trust is a decision.

Process the emotion, redirect your focus to the truth of God’s love for you.

In big things and small things alike, the solution to walking through your day with inward peace is the same: be still and know God.

  1. Thank you for these encouraging words. Day by day I am learning to give God my worries and concerns. He has been so very good to me and blessed me over and over.

  2. I know this was directed at me this morning. I’ve been anxious and bustling around trying NOT to be still. I read this and felt myself taking deep breaths and just leaning in to God’s arms.
