Face the Giant

David believed that God chose him to defeat the giant before him.

1 Samuel 17:49 records what David did: “Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead.” NIV

David took the small thing he had in his bag and put it to use in faith believing that God could use a small thing put in action to conquer that big giant.

I want to remind you today that God has chosen you.

God has chosen you to be where you are and has already given you what you need.

Jesus walks with you.

Jesus is for you.

Jesus has given you what you need to face the giant before you.

You may feel like you don’t have much but, my friend, with God you don’t need much.

Even a small stone will do.

It is not the size of what you are facing but the size of your God.

He is the One who loves you, sent His Son to die for you, defeated the power of death and sin to rise to new life.

There is nothing more powerful in the universe than that.

You can fearlessly face the giant before you because the Spirit of the Almighty God is within you.

James 2:17 reminds us that, “faith that doesn’t involve action is phony.”

You already have what you need.

Do something with it.

What small thing has God placed in your hand?

Do what you can with what you have and trust God to defeat the un-defeat-able thing before you.
