Are you in a non-stop season? Are you so exhausted and so busy that you don’t even have time to eat?
After a non-stop ministry tour, Jesus told His disciples in Mark 6:31, “[As for you] come away by yourselves to a deserted place, and rest a while–for many were [continually] coming and going, and they had not even leisure enough to eat.” (AMPC)
The Greek word for “rest” in this verse means:
1) to cause or permit one to cease from any movement or labor in order to recover and collect his strength
2) to give rest, refresh, to give one’s self rest, take rest
3) to keep quiet, of calm and patient expectation
God made human beings with limits.
Jesus honors those limits and invites you and I to take time to simply stop.
Stop producing, stop creating and simply breathe.
Remember that your value to God is not what you do but who you are to Him.
You are His beloved child.
He loves you when you are “doing good.”
He loves you when you are tired and struggling.
He loves you.
Today, Jesus is inviting you take some time, take care of your body, eat and rest.
Trust Him to do what only He can do.
The world won’t fall apart when you do because you are not holding the world together, He is.
