Life that Lasts

Jesus didn’t come to the earth so that you can have a good life.
He came so that you can have eternal life beginning now.

In the gospel of John we get to eavesdrop on Jesus in the middle of His prayer in the garden of Gethsemane. Before He faces the horror of the cross, John 17:1-3 records Him praying, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” (ESV)

On the cross, Jesus paid the cost so that you can have full access to the Father Himself. He laid down His body to be a vessel of redemption and broke the power of sin and death so that you could experience an unhindered relationship with God now.

Jesus came to give you so much more than a new list of rules to “live right.”

He has made you right with God so you can live confidently and completely as a beloved child of His.

Your identity is now in Christ, not a title, a position or job.

Your worth is not who you are or what you have or don’t have.

Your worth is determined by the cost Jesus was willing to pay for you.

You are loved completely, endlessly and for all eternity.

Through your faith in who Jesus is and what He has done for you, you are now and for all eternity embraced by God.

My friend, you were made for more than just an easy life.

You have been redeemed by Christ to live a God ordained, Christ centered, Holy Spirit powered life that will not cease when you take your last breath in this body.

This is eternal life, that you may know the Only true God and Jesus Christ today and every day after.

That is more than a good life, this is life that lasts.

  1. Everyday is a Blessing. Each day I wake up and breathe air into my lungs I know Jesus will be with me. When he laid his body down for my sin’s so I could live this earthly life I know that when this body here on earth is done I will continue living in Eternal Life where I will be in Jesuses presence, experiencing Peace and Love Eternally. Thank you Father for loving me so much, I will be obedient to your word and love you for all eternity.
