Today, I want to challenge you to take some time, shut the world out and let God work on the landscape of your life with His Word.
James 1:21 says, “In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life.” (MSG)
God’s Word can cut to the heart and pull out the weeds of lazy lies and pretense in our daily relationships. Ephesians 4:45 says, “What this adds up to, then, is this: no more lies, no more pretense. Tell your neighbor the truth. In Christ’s body we’re all connected to each other, after all. When you lie to others, you end up lying to yourself.” (MSG)
Ouch.
It is so easy to slip into the bad habit of telling the people little lies to be nice instead of speaking the truth in love. But you are made to live in the truth and live in love. Be brave. Ask God for help, for courage and for His grace to expose the places that you have begun to settle for less than the truth in your relationships.
If you let Him, God will use His Word to do a beautiful work of grace in your life today.
You are worth it and so are your relationships.
Who are you lying to today?
