My friend, no matter what season you just came from or how hard it was, Jesus desires to restore your joy of your salvation. What happened to you doesn’t define you – God does. Lasting joy does not come from the temporary, it can only come from the eternal. God has saved you from the tyranny of the temporary to live in the truth of the eternal.
King David’s prayer in Psalms 51:12 was that God would, “Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” (NIV)
Where does your joy come from?
Restoring the joy of your salvation means embracing again the truth of who you are to God – you are His child.
Has your heart been broken and joy elusive?
Cry out to God to restore your vision to match His.
See the world around you and yourself through His eyes.
In Christ you are recreated to live daily in the truth of God’s unending love, the reality of God’s unchanging faithfulness and to be open to all God has for you.
Invite Him to do this right now.
Don’t waste one more day on what if’s but focus solely on what God has for you right now.
It is not about what happened to you but what God can do in you that heals the hurt.
God’s desire is to restore your joy and anchor it to the truth of His love for you.
May a gentle rush of His power invigorate your soul to live fully persuaded that no matter what happens today, God’s Spirit and power is in you.
Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is in God’s hands and today is your day to have joy restored.
