Jesus said how you see the world around you impacts how you experience the world within you.
Matthew 6:22-23 records His words, “Your eyes are windows into your body. If you open your eyes wide in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light. If you live squinty-eyed in greed and distrust, your body is a dank cellar. If you pull the blinds on your windows, what a dark life you will have!” (MSG)
Jesus said He is the light of the world and if you feel like your inside world is dark, invite Him into it.
His forgiveness will eliminate the need to judge others.
His grace will wash away shame and fear.
His power will restore your soul, heal your spirit and clear up how you see others as well as how you see yourself.
He will restore wonder.
He will bring light and life into the dark places in your heart and mind.
Is there someone in your life you view with cynicism and distrust?
Have you built a wall of criticism around your heart as a way to protect it?
My prayer for you today is that you will open your heart to be filled with God’s love and let it open your eyes to see yourself and the world around you in wonder and awe.
Which is the way God sees the world and the way that you are recreated in Christ to experience it.
Ask and you will receive.
