Guarded by Peace

When you enter into a relationship with God, you are invited to bring your whole life with you. Whatever you are dealing with today you can and should share it with God.

Philippians 4:7 admonishes each of us to, “Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ.” (TPT)

My friend, you are redeemed, reclaimed and restored to God to share your whole life with Him. And as you share your life with God, He shares His life with you: His abiding love, His all knowing perspective, all-inclusive wisdom and knowledge.

He walks with you through every situation with the invitation to come close.
As you move from living with worry to being saturated in prayer, God’s wonderful peace will settle in your heart and mind.

I love that the Greek word used for guard in this verse does not describe a feeling but it is used to describe a military guard. God’s wonderful peace that passes all understanding is like a military guard over your heart and mind to prevent a hostile invasion, or to keep the inhabitants of a besieged city from flight. That means that nothing gets in without God’s peace affecting it or gets out without being touched by His abundant peace.

May the peace of God guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus as you pour out every single detail of your life before Him in prayer today.
