The pressure in your life right now is no joke. It is intense and I want to encourage you to not give up. There is a way for you to acknowledge the great pressure you are feeling and live well through it. The Apostle Paul wrote to the early Christ followers in Rome who were being intensely persecuted to, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12 (NIV)
The word “affliction” here means pressure and when the pressure of life gets intense, we are all tempted to give up, give in and go back to the bad coping mechanisms of the past.
So Paul encourages us to:
Not quit when the pressure is turned on.
Spend more time in the presence of God than in the presence of fear.
Spend your energy pursuing hope and leave the outcome to God.
Yes, the pressure in your life is a lot right now but you are not alone to bear it, God is with you. Jesus walks beside you. Hold on to Him, lean on Him and pursue the hope only He can bring you.
