You Can

With Jesus you can do the hard thing. You can face the challenge. You can have the hard conversation. You can stay faithful. You can work hard. You can be content with little or much.  You can go forward. You can forgive them. You can forgive yourself. You can begin again.

The Apostle Paul wrote this amazing truth to the church born in Phillipi: “I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Yet it was good of you to share in my troubles.” Philippians 4:11-14 (NIV)

You can do what God is placing before you through Him, with Him, by His grace and strength. With Jesus, you face nothing alone. You are indwelled with His Spirit. You can do what He is asking of you today because He is with you to endure the discomfort, to not give up, to speak the truth in love and fight the good fight for your life as well as for others.

Jesus is the light through the darkness and your strength in the battle. There is no darkness that God’s light cannot penetrate, no enemy that can stop God’s purposes, no wall that He cannot overcome. With God you can do the thing you must do.

  1. This was probably the first scripture I ever memorized in my early twenties after reading The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale. Still my favorite!
