When is it hard to be still?
– when you worry
– when you are anxious
– when you don’t know what to do
– when you are overwhelmed
Why be still?
– because worry gets you nowhere
– because anxious thoughts translate into stress
– because you are not alone, you have God.
– because God is never overwhelmed and His grace is inexhaustible.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
Although the word trust is not actually in the text, it is the prerequisite needed to fulfill the command.
Trust, as a verb, is defined as:
– to have confidence in
– to extend credit to
– to allow without fear
In big things and small things alike, the solution to walking through your day without fear and with inward peace is the same: be still and know your God.
