King David writes in Psalms 25:3, “No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause.” (NIV)
The Hebrew word that David uses for hope is a beautiful word picture of being entwined around someone or something. It is the picture of being tethered to or tied to something. As King David faces an injustice he wraps his hope around the presence and power of the Righteous One.
Maybe today you are facing an injustice and you are furious about it. Maybe your hope in the world has waned and your strength to stand has weakened. My friend, tether yourself to God, put your hope in Him, entwine your heart with His and pin your hope on heaven where the Holy One can call light out of the darkness and the Son Himself has broken the power of sin and shame in your life.
The Passion Translation of verse 3 is, “Could anyone be disgraced when he has entwined his heart with yours? But my foes will all be defeated and ashamed when they harm the innocent.”
Bring back your perspective to God, tie your hope to Him and trust Him to do what only He can do.
