No Comparison

Are you struggling with comparing yourself to others?

Knowing who you are (and who you are not) is vital in carrying out your God-given assignment.

John the Baptist said in John‬ ‭3:27-28, “A person can receive only what is given them from heaven. You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah but am sent ahead of him.’”‭(‭‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

John the Baptist knew who he was and what God had called him to do.

He also knew who he wasn’t – he was not the Savior of the world, he was not Jesus.

When God lays a burden on your heart, it will always be bigger than you and it will be something only God can do through you.

God is not asking you to be the Savior of the world, you are not Jesus, but you are called to point people to Him.

It can be overwhelming and it is easy to look around at what others are doing as they go after God’s call on their life and feel intimidated.

But you, my friend, are called to faithfully fulfill the assignment God has given you without trying to be someone you are not or function in gifts God has not given you.

Stop comparing yourself to others.

Comparison traps you in perpetual anxiety about all the things you can’t do and about all the gifts you don’t have.

Faith in Jesus sets you free to do what He has called you to do without looking to others in envy or for acceptance.

Get your eyes off what everyone else is doing and fix your eyes on Jesus.

Live your call, where God has put you, with with the gifts He has given you.
