“But Moses told the people, ‘Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the LORD rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.’”
Exodus 14:13-14 NLT
The Israelites were stuck between the sea and their former slave masters on their way to re-enslave them. It was a no win situation. Hemmed in by the mountains on both sides, they had no way out and no way forward. Their newfound freedom felt useless and they felt doomed.
It was an impossible situation.
And they didn’t know God very well.
They had not been free long enough to learn how powerful He was.
They didn’t know that the God who set them free, wouldn’t stop there.
He would fight for them and split the sea before them.
My friend, when you don’t want to go back to where you were but don’t know how you are going to go forward, stand still.
Stand still and let God fight for you.
Let Him do the impossible for you.
Stop fretting and start trusting.
God got you this far and He will get you all the way to a life of freedom in Christ.
