This morning I did something I rarely do: I opened the News App on my phone.
I regretted it immediately.
I just wanted to see what was happening in the world out there, wanted to know what was going on.
I think I was looking for a little hope.
What I found was the same stories with different names, same themes with different titles: fear, stress, tragedy and loss.
I took a deep breath and did what I should have done in the beginning – I opened my YouVersion App.
This is where hope lives.
Not because it is a fantasy but because it addresses reality.

As I turn my gaze from the trouble in the world to the light that shines in it, I find hope.
I find love and I find courage to believe in the impossible.
