So much can be communicated through a small touch.
A reassuring pat of the hand.
A hug.
A gentle tug on the elbow of someone who you want closer.
Holding a hand.
A small touch can make a bad thing okay, an okay thing good, and make a good thing great.
Small touches are difference makers in a relationship and in our lives.
They can be the first thing we unconsciously give and the first thing that we unconsciously withhold.
When we struggle, when we are angry, when we are hurt, we withhold the small touches.
It’s easy to forget how important they are to us and to those we love until we can’t give them anymore.
Love never gives up.

As a woman who has been married for over half a century, I realize that there will always be ups and downs in a relationship. If God is the anchor, love will find a way to meld a couple together for life. I once worked for a faith-based home for drug and alcohol addicted woman. Some of the employees were telling one gal to dump her husband, who was also in the program elsewhere. I seemed to be the only one urging her to trust in Him and work it out. Praise God she listened, prayed for guidance, and now has had a God-centered marriage with beautiful children for over ten years. They radiate love for each other – God be praised! God’s Love truly is the answer. ❤
