What To Do With Worry

Do you know what to do with worry?

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:7‬ ‭

NIV

Here, God says to cast it all on Him.

What does that mean?

Cast means to toss. You can’t throw something without letting it go.

All means to give Jesus every irrational fear, every overwhelming worry, as they come to you.

Your – this is not about denial, this is about naming, acknowledging what your worries are. They are yours. You are the only one who knows what they really are. What is the fear underneath the worry? Name it, look at it, feel it – then toss it to God.

Anxiety – the word used here means to be drawn in different directions. it literally means to be torn apart.

On Him – where do you put what is tearing you apart? Into the hands of Jesus. Jesus is strong enough to handle it.

Because He Cares – this is a present active verb as in “caring right now in this present moment”.

For You – yes, YOU.

God is caring for you right now.

What are you suppossed to do with worry? Look at it, name it then cast it totally on God and let Him take care of it.
