“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
Galatians 2:20 NIV
The grace of God is the sacrifice of Jesus to restore you to the very heart of God by relationship to intimately know the character of God.
Next to it, you and I are unceasingly pursued and continually washed. It brings us quickly to the realization that we are, because of Jesus, embraced by God.
The law is the standard of holiness and the very heart and character of God.
Next to it you and I are miserably weak and continually guilty. It brings us quickly to the realization that we can’t, no matter how hard we try, be good enough for God.
When ever you “try” to be good, you are living in the law.
Whenever you “die” to trying and surrender completely to God you are living in grace.
It is being crucified with Christ so you can live to God.
To stop obsessing about yourself and all your faults and how to “do better” tomorrow but instead to fill up on God’s grace today.
To fix your mind on Him and fill your soul to overflowing with a divine irrational love that is unearned, undeserved and offered in Christ.
He has chosen you.
He has paid for you.
He will empower you.
May the undeserved, unearned favor of God so fill you to overflowing that you pour it out on others and allow God to use you any way He chooses. May you be more grace-obsessed than self-obsessed and come to know what it is to truly live.
