At that time …
Jesus had nothing going for him, nothing to indicate he was anything special or extra-ordinary.
There was nothing uncommon or remarkable about him from the outside. He probably wasn’t even good looking.
The prophecy of the Messiah in Isaiah 53:2 says,
“He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.”
He had a common name, there were many sons with the name Jesus.
He came from an unremarkable and undesirable village, Nazareth.
Galilee wasn’t even the place where the “spiritual” people came from.
If you take your cue from the world, you will believe that God only chooses the good looking, the well off, the well connected.
If you take your cue from Jesus, you will see that how you look, what others think of you or where you come from means absolutely nothing in light of God’s love and purpose for you.
It’s not how you look that determines your destiny but Who has chosen you to love and be loved by Him.
It’s not where you come from but how you choose to go forward.
Look to God for your purpose and Him only.
Live that purpose and don’t look back.
Don’t worry about what others think of you, focus on what God does.
Happy 3rd Day of the New Year!
