“The Lord isn’t slow to keep his promise, as some think of slowness, but he is patient toward you, not wanting anyone to perish but all to change their hearts and lives. “(2 Peter 3:9 CEB)
Slow down, my friend.
I know you are tired and God knows it too.
In the pursuit of the abundant life, we can mistake more for better, busy for important.
What is important is to slow down and take a deep breath. The Lord isn’t slow in keeping His promises and your effort doesn’t hurry it up. He is faithful to complete that which He starts.
In fact, sometimes the very best thing to do is rest. Trust. Slow down and look around.
We may be impatient to see change, impatient to see the result we desire when we want to see it.
Slow down, put yourself and what is weighing heavy on your heart into His Hands.
He is patient with you (and with others) because He sees more than we do, His reach extends ours and His knowledge is not hindered by time or eternity.
God knows real change takes time and He is willing to wait.
Rest in Him today and give yourself permission to stop worrying about things you can’t control. In music, the rests are as powerful as the notes to create music.
Have a great day pursuing God’s best and God’s rest.
P.S. I just wanted you to know how much I love to hear from you as you pursue God’s plan and purpose for your life. I love and appreciate each comment, text and word of encouragement I receive. Thank You!
Thank you Cindy for diligently posting these devotionals daily! They mean so much to me and I share them with others who often tell me how much they appreciate it!
You are welcome, Tammy! I don’t know why it took me so long. Thank you for always being such a blessing and encouragement!
Thank you sweetie girl. If you knew just how much I needed this word, this very morning…The call to the nations overtakes me at times and I desire to be everywhere at once. Thanks for the reminder that today is a good day to ‘stop and smell the roses’ along the way. As always…I love you so my friend.
And I love you! Miss you like crazy and praying for you all the time.
Your messages are usually exactly what I need to hear. When I see just a minute in my mail box I know the Lord has a message for me. Thank you for your availability to Him. He is reaching us through you.
Thank you, Tara!
