Faith and Feelings

When your faith rests in feelings, it surges and wanes like the waves of the sea.

When your faith rests in the wisdom of man, it falters because at it is best, it is a human attempt to explain the divine.

When your faith rests on experience, it morphs into whatever you are experiencing now, good or bad.

So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men (human philosophy), but in the power of God. (1 Corinthians 2:5 AMP)

When your faith rests on God’s power, it is the rock upon which the waves of emotion break, it is the wisdom that confounds the wise and the truth that give your experience perspective.

Stop worrying about how you feel, what others say or what happened in the past.

Put your faith in God and walk forward.

Hi Dawn, sorry it has taken me so long to reply. It is true that the Church is the Bride of Christ and the hardest part of being a part of it is that it is made of people. Fallible, human and hurt people. When we get hurt by someone in the church, it reminds us that the church is not perfect, only Jesus is. And the church is not our Savior, only Jesus does. I heard a great quote that said ” the miracle is that God uses imperfect leaders and imperfect followers to perfect both.” I’m praying that as God helps you forgive and give grace, He will heal your heart and give your wisdom through it. Blessings on you, Cindy
