To the enemy, you are the enemy.
Lisa Bevere said this at the Women of Faith Conference I went to a couple of weeks ago,
“If you are anointed by God, you are hated by the enemy”.
Don’t be surprised at the attack that is happening in your life right now.
Maybe the depression that creeps and consumes has more to do with spiritual warfare than life circumstances.
If you are a Christian, a Christ follower, a disciple- than you are the enemy to the enemy.
You have been marked with a target:
saved, redeemed, sacrificed for.
If you are growing, pursuing God’s call on your life and pursuing God, than the enemy would like to discourage you from continuing that.
To the destroyer of your soul, you are the enemy to be destroyed, the adversary to be defeated.
“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesian 6:11-12 NIV)
I know we don’t often think of spiritual warfare this way, but maybe we should. Maybe, we would stop feeling sorry for ourselves, recognize what is happening and fight back with the power of God.
Maybe, when you can recognize that you are the enemy of the darkness, you can become the warrior of the light that you have been redeemed to become.
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. (Ephesians 5:8-11 NIV)
When you live as a child of the light, you become the enemy of the darkness.
Rise up and shine bright.
Go forth and fight fiercely.
Reach out in God’s love and destroy the works of the enemy in the Name and authority of Jesus Christ.
