But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. (James 1:6 NLT)
When faced with a decision on an unknown future, it is easy to put your faith in your own ability, your reading of the situation, what you have learned from past experience, what the experts are saying or even a friend’s advice.
But all of that means nothing in the light of God’s wisdom.
He see’s what we do not see.
He knows what we do not know.
He, himself is the variable that makes the impossible possible.
Do you need wisdom?
Ask God for it.
Then when you receive it, walk in it.
Rest in it. Live with it.
You will be tempted to compare, contrast, consider or contemplate it with what everyone else is saying but don’t. If you do that, your emotions throw you into a storm of doubt and fear.
Put your faith in God alone and be faithful to what He has given you to do.
Don’t allow your mind and emotions to waver back and forth.
Choose to be unflinchingly loyal to God’s wisdom and undivided in your faith.
You don’t need to know exactly what will happen.
You need to know that whatever happens, God will give you what you need to get through it.
