What You Need to Guard.

Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. (‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭14‬ NIV)

Paul has just been telling Timothy to be bold, to not be afraid and to stir up the gift of God within him. Now he says “guard” what God has put in him.

Why? Because the enemy wants to steal the boldness of a child of God, he wants to intensify fear and stamp out the gift God so that it never grows to do what God has planned.

The enemy wants to stop you from being all that God has created you to be in Christ. He wants to stop God’s plan to use you to reach others. The enemy wants to steal your confidence so that you will quit. He can’t steal your gift but he can steal your confidence so that you never use it.

Only something that is valuable needs to be guarded.

God has put something in you that is valuable and precious. He has given you gifts to use for His glory.

Be bold. Do not be afraid. Stir up the gift of God within you and pour it out to bless others.

The God who has called you, has equipped you to do the work He has placed before you.

Walk forward in the power of the Holy Spirit and do what He has called you to do today.
