When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? (Psalm 8:3-4 NIV)
The sky looked like the hand of God painted it yesterday as I drove home from work. The white clouds swirled and swooshed across the pink gray backdrop of the sunset. Just gorgeous.
What a blessing it is to witness the magnitude of God’s creative power, even if is only for a few minutes through the spotted windshield of my little blue car.
In light of the expanse of the universe and the wonder of God’s glory, I am small. I am insignificant. How is it possible that God wants to have anything to do with me much less have a relationship with me?
The answer is because He wants to.
Because He chose to.
Because He made it possible.
He creates this amazing, breathtaking universe and at the same time, stoops low to know me.
What is mankind that God would be mindful of him?
The real question is who is God that He would care?
Amazing, powerful, gracious, loving and personal.
