Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, (Proverbs 3:13 NIV)
There are times when it is more important to hear what is not being said. To see beyond the obvious to the motive driving it. To understand the why more than the what of the situation.
You can’t do it on your own, or simply pull from own experience-it is fraught with your own misunderstandings and wrong perceptions.
You need God’s help.
You need God’s wisdom.
The great thing about God is that He will give it you, as much as you need and as many times as you ask for it.
The problem is that we forget to ask.
We jump to our own conclusions.
We make choices according to our own understanding.
We respond in fear, we move in insecurity.
We get caught up in our own eyes, finding what we are looking for: hurt, betrayal, confirmation that we are unloved or unloveable. All the while, we are missing the blessing that we can not see unless God opens our eyes to it.
What are you looking for?
If you are looking for a blessing, seek wisdom and understanding first.
