Bury It

“so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’” (Matthew 25:25 NET)

Fear is a liar.

It says, “Yes, you have been given a gift that you did not earn and a responsibility to do something with it but WHO do you think you are? You are nobody and can’t do anything really valuable with it, so bury it. At least then it will be safe. “

FB Meyer expressed the thinking of this servant in the parable of the talents as this:

“I can do very little; it will not make much difference if I do nothing: I shall not be missed; my tiny push is not needed to turn the scale”.

Fear is a liar.

You can do something. You will make a difference. You will be missed.

The fearful servant buried his talent.
Kept it safe for his master.
He did not risk failure or work for success. He just buried it deep down where no one would find it.

When the time came to give account for what he had done with what he had been given, his master was NOT happy with him.

He had given his servant something valuable of his with the expectation that he would do something good with it. That he would grow it, work it, risk it.

Don’t listen to the voice of fear.

You are chosen.

You have been equipped.

God expects you to do something good with what he has given you.

Don’t bury it.

Invest it, grow it, work it, give it, risk it.

What are you going to do today with what God has given you?

I love to hear from you and appreciate every comment!
