John 17 records Jesus last prayer before he went to the Cross. In it, he prayed for you.
He prayed that you would not be isolated from the world, but that you would infiltrate it.
He prayed that you would be protected from the evil one as you audaciously pursued living the gospel.
I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. (John 17:15 NLT)
He asked that you would see that you don’t belong to this world. You will never fit in- you were never meant to fit in but to transform it.
They do not belong to this world any more than I do. (John 17:16 NLT)
He prayed that God’s Word would be opened to your understanding and that you would feast on it. That by it’s truth and power you would made whole and complete.
Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. (John 17:17 NLT)
He prayed that God would give you your marching orders and reveal to you where he wanted you to bring light to the darkness.
Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. (John 17:18 NLT)
And just to make sure you know that he was praying for you, he added this:
“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. (John 17:20 NLT)
Today’s post isn’t about what you should pray or even my prayer for you. It is about the prayer God prays over you everyday.
Receive it, believe it and walk in it.
